The Kirkland Lake Region Commemorative Plaque has been designed to pay tribute to the men, women and families who came from around the world to the land of the Algonquins, Cree and Ojibway to develop the area into one of the premier mining regions of the world.
This large, multi-panel plaque is erected to commerate the 100th aniversary of gold mining in the Kirkland Lake Camp. The first gold shipped from the Tough Oakes Mine in 1911.
